How about dreaming of seeing your name proudly displayed on the cover of a book? Well, achieving authorship is not just a dream anymore.
What's the most important part of any online business? The funnel, that's what! In this article, I'll walk you through 7 tips on how to create the best sales funnel possible for your business and make sure that you'll have a steady stream of leads coming in to buy your products or services. Trust me; this one aspect of your business will bring in more revenue than anything else! You'll be glad you took the time to read this!
1) Write Down Your Ideal Customers
Before you can start building a sales funnel, you need to know who you’re building it for. Grab a piece of paper or open a new document and write down your ideal customer profile. Consider things like: their demographic, geographic location, income range, interests/hobbies, how they discovered your business (etc.). Later on in our sales funnel creation process we’ll refer back to these details and use them to create specific content that appeals directly to these folks.
2) Outline What Products You Will Sell Them
Your products are extremely important. If you don’t know what your target audience wants to buy, or even who your target audience is, then you will have a hard time finding customers. Outline all of your potential product ideas and get feedback from your team. Make sure that everyone is on board with each idea. The more people you can brainstorm with, the better prepared you will be for launching a business successfully!
3) Decide Where They Can Buy These Products
You can host these products on your own website, but one of my favorite places to host them is using a WordPress plugin called Thrive Leads. This plugin allows you to easily create landing pages and capture leads with just a few clicks. You can set up an account for free and see how easy it is to set up these lead-capture pages. Be sure to read our Thrive Leads review.
4) Use This Information to Develop an Opt-In Page
Before you even think about developing a sales funnel, it’s imperative that you set up an opt-in page. Your opt-in page is essentially your landing page—it’s where your potential customer can sign up for your email list.
5) Know What Reason You Need Them to Give Their Email Address
Before creating a sales funnel, it’s important to know what your specific offer is. You may be making an offer that gives your prospects something in exchange for their email address. This can range from a free e-book or whitepaper, to a webinar invitation, to an incentive like a coupon code. Whatever you’re offering—and why they should take it—is what will make them want to give you their contact information so that you can sell to them later on down the line.
6) Make it Easy for Them to Sign Up by Offering Something Free (and by following these 5 tips!)
But don’t make it TOO easy. If you’re giving away a free eBook or a small report, consider making people opt-in to your list and/or purchase an inexpensive lead magnet (like an e-book) in order to get your full training. This way, you give something valuable for free to build trust with your audience and make sure they know who you are and what you can do for them.
7) Encourage Them to Sign Up Using Social Media Sharing Buttons
Having a signup form on your site is just one part of growing your audience. If you really want to be successful, you need to encourage people to share that signup form with their friends and followers on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. That’s where social sharing buttons come in. These little icons add next to each signup box and are usually in the top right corner of your web page.
